ST. LOUIS (April 19, 2023) – Maggie Sullivan has been named the first president of the newly formed Rosati-Kain Academy, the successor school to the 112-year-old Archdiocesan-sponsored Rosati-Kain High School. She took her post at the only remaining all-girls Catholic high school within the city limits of St. Louis on May 1, succeeding Elizabeth Ann Goodwin, Ed.D.
As president of Rosati-Kain Academy, Sullivan will lead the school's operations and advancement, working closely with the board of directors, faculty and staff, alumnae, and students and parents to sustain and enhance academic excellence, enrollment, funding and social justice. Rosati-Kain provides an academically rigorous and culturally diverse education to young women in grades 9-12 from more than 70 zip codes at its prominent location in St. Louis’ Central West End, just east of the St. Louis Cathedral Basilica.
Sullivan joins Rosati-Kain Academy from her position as assistant principal of mission at St. Joseph’s Academy, which is sponsored by St. Joseph Educational Ministries (SJEM). Effective July 1, SJEM also will become the Catholic sponsor of Rosati-Kain Academy. Sullivan brings to her role nearly 25 years of educational experience spanning teaching, administration, admissions, college advising, financial aid, writing and ethics programming, and professional development leadership. She anticipates 2023 completion of her Ed.D. degree in educational leadership and learning at Vanderbilt University.

Throughout her career, Sullivan has been committed to providing students with a high-quality education that prepares them for success in college and beyond. Locally, Sullivan has taught history at Whitfield School, where she also served as social studies department chair and head of professional development. She also taught a combination of history, English and writing at Washington University, St. Louis Community College, Clayton High School and University City High School. She was formerly an educator at Kent Denver School in Denver and Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa.
Sullivan anticipates 2023 completion of her Ed.D. degree in educational leadership and learning at Vanderbilt University. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a master’s degree in American Culture Studies with a research focus on gender and the anti-lynching crusade (1880-1940). She earned her bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education at the University of Missouri and was a European Studies major at the University of Florida, where she worked for the NCAA Division I volleyball program.
